How to wash Redacted Jiu-Jitsu kimono
Redacted jiu jitsu gis (kimonos) are made from organic hemp or pearl weave cotton to provide tough but lightweight kit suited to training and competition. Organic fibres need to be washed with care and never bleached. We recommend using the long cycle, low energy setting on your machine at a temperature of 30c. This should agitate any debris from you kimono and the temperature will not cause shrinking.
How to dry my Jiu-Jitsu kimono
Do not tumble dry as this will cause creasing and shrinking. We recommend a spin cycle after washing then hanging someone with plenty of air flow. A heated clothing rack is also recommended.
How to keep your white jiu-jitsu kimono white?
Don't use bleach. That's the first rule. However, if you have found your kimono has picked up an off-white colour after some time or had other wash items bleed into the fabric first try adding bicarbonate of soda or oxy stain remover powder to your regular detergent.
What temperature should I was my jiu jitsu kimono?
30c. Anything more and you will risk shrinking your kimono.
What temperature should I was my rashguard and grappling shorts?
You can wash your grappling shorts, rashguard and other no gi jiu-jitsu kit, such as spats and compression wear at 40c.
Do not bleach.
Wash inside out to avoid fabric abrasion that may cause "bubbling", "bobbling" or "piling" to form.
All of our no gi grappling kit is made from high performance synthetic fabrics and blends. Each garment will have detailed instructions included on how to keep it good condition.
